Mrs. Dolsie Allen, Chief Executive Officer, Consumer Affairs Commission and Mrs. Arlene Harrison Henry, Public Defender, Office of the Public Defender share a handshake after the Memorandum of Understanding Signing between the Consumer Affairs Commission and the Office of the Public Defender held on July 13, 2017 at the Commission’s office. The MOU is geared towards effectively resolving consumer complaints against Government entities.
The Consumer Affairs Commission (CAC) is a government agency under the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, whose role is to enforce the Consumer Protection Act 2005 (Amended 2012) and a range of additional legislation, promoting competition and fair trading, for the benefit of all Jamaicans.
The Commission has a chair and ten Commissioners, who are appointed by the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce for terms of up to two years.
